小升初考试的总分为300分，语数外各科均为满分100分。其中笔试考查主要是语文和数学两个科目。题目来源是所在年级上册以及6年纪下册的期末考试题；重点从语法和阅读理解两个方面来测试学生。考试时间最长为二十分钟，最短为五六分钟。小升初考试是由各个学校半公开组织的选拔性考试。因此它具有不稳定性和多样性。针对这样的特性，在此我想就这一角度入手谈谈小升初考试的误区。小升初不仅是考试，更应注重知识的实用性。
