Market Research
The definition of market research: study carried out by a company before launching a new product, into the needs, lifestyle, income, etc of potential buyers and to measure the success of similar products that are already available. It may involve interviewing people in the street or giving away sample product.
○1 Market research can be done for both a product and a company. As for a product, it is the first step when promoting a new product. It can find out whether the market accept the product or not. As for the company, market research can find out the customers’ opinion about the after-sales services and corporate image.
○2 There are generally four ways of doing market research, observation, survey, questionnaire and telephone interview.
○3 There are four procedures while doing market research. First, represent suitable questions. Second, record the customers’ feedbacks. Third, gather these statistics. Forth, analyse them and draw a conclusion.
VI. Sales
Ex: How to sell a product effectively in international markets.
○1 Advertising. Choose a media to advertise your products in a foreign country, TV commercials, magazines, bill board, or etc. Make sure it suits the local tastes. Maybe you can try to sell on the net; it will receive the world-wide attention.
○2 Do market research. Find out whether the products are accepted by foreign customers. It can be carried out as surveys, observations, and questionnaires.

BEC中级英语口语考试自我介绍属于第一部分的考试内容,问候和介绍非常简单,谈论下自身学习和工作经历即可,不要长篇大论。
一、第一部分 访谈(Interview)
第一部分(Interview)采取问答的形式,即考官问,考生答。这一部分又分为两个阶段:第一阶段 (Phase 1)是问候和介绍;第二阶段(Phase 2)涉及与商务相关的不同话题,如职业选择、产品销售等。一组考生(一般两人)共用一个话题,每个话题都有四个相关的问题,考生轮流作答。
应试技巧:
1、第一阶段的问候和介绍非常简单,相当于热身练习,该部分主要是用来活跃气氛, 缓解考生的紧张情绪,所以考生只需作简单回答,就事论事,两句话足够。
2、第二阶段是与商务工作相关的话题,考生应有自己的观点。考官所提的问题中有较多的专业词汇,如teamwork, customer service等,考生应听清后再作答,每个话题可适当展开,但不必太长,两三句话就行。
考生要充满自信,谈话时注息自己的语音、语调、语速等,回答问题时注意表达要清晰、简洁、明了,给考官一个良好的印象。
考生应利用这一热身部分尽快熟悉并适应考官和同伴的语音、语速等,为后面的考试做好充分的准备。
二、第二部分 简短陈述(Mini-Presentation)
第二部分是一个小型演讲或者说是一个简短的口头陈述(Mini-Presentation)。整个第二部分的考试时间约为6分钟。在这一部分,每位考生将被要求就某一主题发表1分钟左右的演讲。
应试技巧:
1、考生应快速浏览信息卡,选择最熟悉、最有把握话题,然后根据问题后的提示组织演讲。
在准备期间,考生一定要稍做笔记。建议考生记下要点,以免在演讲的过程中,由于紧张而忘记了自己准备要讲的内容。
2、正式演讲时,考生应该记住:要做的只是一个小小的演讲。建议先告知考官要讲的话题,作为开头。然后从自己记下的要点中,选择最有把握、最熟悉的几点充分进行阐述。最后,重述主题或者就你的发言进行总结。注意:考生应该合理地组织演讲内容,做到通顺、流畅、有逻辑。尽可能地使用连接词(如first of all, finally, however, to sum up, etc. )
3、合理分配时间。一个条理清晰、逻辑严密的演讲胜过一个毫无边际、有头无尾的发言。
尽可能地运用肢体语言。记住,适时的一个手势、一个眼神,都会为你增色添彩。
最后要切忌胆怯。保持自信,大胆演讲与提问。要相信自己肯定做得到并且做得好。
三、合作与讨论(Collaborative Task and Discussion)
BEC中级口语考试的第三部分是两个考生之间进行的双向交流讨论,有时也会在三个考生间进行。它是一个合作项目,需要考生互相配合来完成任务。考官根据指导语说明任务要求后会将两个考生共用的材料发给考生,要求考生交谈。然后,考生将围绕试题卡上的问题_行三分钟的对话。在考生交谈完后,考官会进一步问考生一些与主题相关的问题。这一部分涉及公司活动和公司决策的方方面面,主要是考查考生用适当的功能语言和策略进行互动交流的能力。
应试技巧:
1、这是一个讨论而不是角色表演,所以考生既不能只顾自己一个人说,也不能只对考官说,而是应该与另一个考生合作讨论。
2、仔细听对方说活,当考生没听清或没听懂对方的讲话时,不要不懂装懂,完全可以要求对方说慢一点,重复或解释一下;另一方面,也有责任帮助对方听懂你的话,否则,两个人不可能讨论下去。

BEC英语口语突破关键技巧:模仿+复述
衡量口语水平四大要点
1.语音、的语调是否正确,口齿是否清楚;
2.流利程度;
3.语法是否正确,用词是否恰当,是否符合英语表达习惯;
4.内容是否充实,逻辑是否清楚。
这些是衡量会话能力的主要标准。针对以上标准,我们可以采取相应的训练 方法 :
模仿的原则
一要大声模仿这一点很重要,模仿时要大大方方,清清楚楚,一板一眼,口形要到位,不能扭扭捏捏,小声小气地在嗓眼里嘟嚷。
有了这种意识,在模仿时就不会觉得单调、的枯燥,才能主动、的有意识、的有目的地去模仿,这种模仿才是真正的模仿,才能达到模仿的目的,也就是要用心揣摩、的体会。
三要坚持长期模仿一般来说,纯正、的优美的语音、的语调不是短期模仿所能达到的,需要一段时间,时间的长短取于自学者的专心程度。
复述的方法
学英语离不开记忆,记忆不是死记硬背,要有灵活性。复述就是一种很好的自我训练口语,记忆单词、的 句子 的形式。
复述有两种常见的方法。一是阅读后复述,一是听磁带后复述。后种方法更好些,这种方法既练听力,又练口语表达能力。同时,可以提高注意力的集中程度,提高听的效果,而且还可以 提高 记忆力 ,克服听完就忘的毛病。
复述的原则
要循序渐进,可由一两句开始,听完后用自己的话(英语)把所听到的内容说出来,一遍复述不下来,可多听几遍,越练遗忘就越少。在刚开始练习时,因语言表达能力、的技巧等方面原因,往往复述接近于背诵,但在基础逐渐打起来后,就会慢慢放开,由“死”到“活”。在保证语言正确的前提下,复述可有越来越大的灵活性,如改变句子结构,删去一些不大有用或过难的东西,长段可以缩短,甚至仅复述大意或作内容概要。
复述的内容也要有所选择。一般来说,所选资料的内容要具体生动,有明确的情节,生词量不要太大。可选那些知识性强的小短文。开始时可以练习复述小 故事 ,有了基础后,复述的题材可扩展开些。
复述表面看慢,实际上对英语综合能力的培养很有帮助。如果时间较充足,可以在口头复述的基础上,再用笔头复述一下,这样做可以加深掌握语言的精确程度,提高书面表达能力。
模仿的标准
模仿要达到什么程度才算好了呢?简单地说就是要“像”,如果能够达到“是”就更好了,但不一定要达到“是”。“像”是指模仿者的语音、的语调等都很接近所模仿的语言,“是”就是不仅在语音、的语调等方面都很接近所模仿的声音,而且非常逼真。
模仿的方法
第一步,模仿语音。模仿时要一板一眼,口形要正确,刚开始模仿时,速度不要过快,用慢速模仿,以便把音发到位,待把音发准了以后,再加快速度,用正常语速反复多说几遍,直到达到不用想就能用正常语速把句子轻松地说出来(脱口而出),对于自己读不准或较生疏的单词要反复多听几遍,然后再反复模仿,一个单词一个单词地练,在那些常用词上下功夫,尽量模仿得像一些。
第二步,模仿词组的读法。有了第一步的基础,这一步就容易多了。重点要放在熟练程度和流利程度上,要多练一下连读、的同化等语音技巧。
第三步,段落及篇章模仿,重点在于提高流利程度。打开录音机或收音机跟着模仿,“他”说你模仿,同步进行。目的要提高口腔肌肉的反应速度,使肌肉和大脑更加协调起来。
模仿练习时要注意一个问题,就是害羞心理。害羞心理一方面源于性格,一般性格内向的人,讲话时易小声小气,这对 学习英语 语音语调很不利,要注意克服。另一方面是源于自卑心理,总以为自己英语水平太差,不敢开口,尤其是当与口语水平比自己高的人对话时,更易出现这种情况。克服这种心理障碍,是学好口语的前提。
BEC商务英语备考:如何让口语表达更流利
一些参加过BEC口语考试的网友往往有这样的感想,为什么在口语考试有时不能比较流利的讲出来呢?原因之一就是没有一个正确的思路,大多数的时候,都是先用汉语的思维,从实话实说的角度来先考虑一翻,等想清楚了实际情况,再翻译成英语去回答,或者是边想边翻译。这就是问题所在了。
对于英语水平不是很高的人来说,这个过程是要花掉一部分时间的,这就有构思和翻译两个步骤需要完成(当然,大家公认的最好的方法是用英语来思考,但真正能做到的高手却不多)。而且,构思出来的汉语答案在翻译成英语的过程中又会出现一些问题。比如,有些词语或者表达方式一时难以灵活的运用,要不然就是跟本想不起来了,甚至有的时候还有时态的问题,这就使得最后的回答不理想,以至于分数比较低。考官评分中很重要的一点就是流利的程度,如果象刚才我们谈到的那样,就很容易让自己的回答变得不通顺,不流畅,吞吞吐吐。自然不会有理想的分数。
总而言之,就是要想尽办法让自己的回答尽量的流利,清晰,完整,准确。所以,我们现在就来为这样的目的做一些改变。
在听完考官的提问之后,不要马上就去想自己的真实情况(姓名除外)。为什么呢?因为有可能,我是说,有可能,“真实的情况”会不太容易用英语来表达清晰,所以,应该在保证“符合逻辑”的前提下,想出一些比较方便自己进行回答的答案,换句话来说,就是,要把自己最熟悉的相关的 短语 和词句组织起来,形成你的答案,而不必去考虑这个答案是否是你自己的真实的情况。
第一,你不是在法庭上说证词,不用对你自己的话负什么法律责任,没人会追究你说了些什么(当然,最好不要有过激的语言)。
第二,你的答案是否真实,并不在考察范围之内,考官也并不知道你的情况,或者说,考官考察的是你的英语表达能力,而不是别的什么。
所以,我们就可以尽可能的展开丰富的想象和联想,把自己的优势,自己擅长使用的词句,短语,等等,进行组织,来形成一个更易于流利表达的答案。
当然,有些朋友可能会感觉,这样做会更麻烦,那就因人而异了。大家找到最适合自己的方法就好。
另外再补充一点,个人认为口语中应尽量避免时间较长的停顿,即使用了不太恰当的表达方式,或者由于急于表达而犯一点小的语法错误,要好于默不做声,无言以对。换言之,实在没词了,就想到什么说什么,别太犹豫。时间(分数)不等人啊。
